I wake up some early mornings ( when it's still dark ) thinking about Joey. I think it's because we switch pillows when he's away and I think my pillow is more comfortable. Maybe it's because I sleep with the hood of my favorite hoodie of his draped over my nose. Or that he's all I can think about when I finally get into bed. Anyway- Sometimes I wake up. Most times I 'will' myself to go back to sleep. This time... I just "knew" I had e-mail. This is quite hilarious because I checked it right until midnight. I just "knew". ( Of course I have "knew" before and had nothing.. )
I stumble into our office all sleepy and turn on the computer. Go to my email browser. Cross my fingers. Pray to my dad. And...... I did. For once I was right. Sweet Sweet e-mail. Paragraphs. Not just four lines. It's the e-mail you hope for. This particular e-mail was so long that he numbered it 7 and 8. He said, " Hey Love I am going to make this one extra long so it counts for 2 hehe. " His e-mail is wonderful. Calming. I know he missed sleep to write it. He knows I appreciate that. He's getting into his groove- which makes me happy. Some of his first e-mails made me a little sad. I want this to be easy for him too. He told me how they are all trying to watch 1 episode of Dexter every day so that they have something to talk about during meals and watch. He told me that Tony and Josh are planning to run off the boat along with Joe to find Internet to skype with their wives(Myself, Anna and Kelly) and that they can't wait so they keep talking about it . He went on about the new uniforms he dislikes for a while. But mostly he just talked about us - a few personal things... and about the things he has been missing( our harley, oreos, comfortable bed, driving.... ).
He ends it: "Well that's about it for now love. I hope that was long enough to count for 2 and I miss you like crazy Monkey, I hope you know how much I love you and how much I can't wait to talk to you, until then you are in my dreams. Love Jo"
My favorite nickname that he has for me. Monkey. Melts my heart.
Gosh... I miss my Joey. I'm so thankful for that great e-mail. Perfect timing. I'm so very lucky.
Now...to get some sleep. FINALLY
